We would
like to bring to your attention how the new Regulatory Reform (Fire
Safety) Order effective from the 1st of October 2006, will affect you. |
|

The new
Regulatory Reform order (2005) is a complete modernisation, removing
legislative overlap and consolidation of a great number of confusing
pieces of legislation, including: |

1) The Fire Precaution Act 1971 |
|
|
2) Workplace
regulations 1977, as amended 1999 |
|
|
|
If you own a
building or are the responsible person for any non-domestic premises, an
employer or self-employed with business premises, a charity or voluntary
organisation, a contractor with a degree of control over any premises or
any place to which the public have access, then you need to act now as
this new legislation will affect you. |
|
|
As of the 1st
of October 2006 by law every owner / occupier of any business premises is
required to carry out a Fire Risk Assessment on their buildings. |
|
|
Non -
compliance to the current law may lead to prosecution, up to a £10,000
fine and may also lead to imprisonment. |

medium risk or above, you will need to carry out a fire risk assessment
immediately, if you have not already done so. |
